Lamp Workshop Online - Info
This workshop will be conducted online, via Zoom.
The first session will be held on Sunday, May 10th at 10am. This session will be a demo with our instructor, Kelley, who will show you tips for throwing bottle shapes, what you need to know when you are throwing if you intend to turn your piece into a lamp, and she will also show you want you need to know when trimming.
Our second session will be held on Sunday, May 31st (via Zoom) and our instructor will take you through a demonstration of the lamp wiring process.
You will be able to contactless drop off 2-3 pieces that you made for this workshop after May 10th for firing, included in the workshop. We will work with you on scheduling for drop of and glazing.
The workshop will also include a one-on-one wiring session, remotely.
Once you have your bisqued pieces, Kelley will work with you via email to get measurements and will help you order the hardware and cords you need through our shop (parts aren't included in workshop price.) Depending on when you finish, trim, fire and then glaze fire your pieces, you may not have them back in time for the May 30th wiring demo; Kelley will work with you individually via Skype or Facetime to walk you through wiring your individual lamp.
This workshop is focused on: wheelthrowing, shaping, throwing necks / closing in forms, trimming techniques, as well as the lamp making component.
See you online!
