This is a 3-hour hands on workshop with Heather Banas, to help you gain more confidence in glazing! We will go over bisque prep, demystify wax resist and talk about planning for surface design. We will talk about the importance of glaze application thickness and how to control it. We will go over using wax resist as a decorative tool, using underglaze for creating images both under, over and ingrained into glazes. Heather will also show how to use paper and wax resist to create illustrative designs! Finally we will talk about creating dimensional glaze effects by layering glazes, glaze painting and glaze inlay!
Bring some bisqued pieces to practice on with guidance from Heather. Underglaze and wax resist is provided to participants.
This workshop is open to all skill levels.
